The Heinrich Heine Gardens in the Heerdt district were planned as an exclusive urban quarter with its own identity and forward-looking safety and service standards.

On the former site of the Ludwig-Maximilian University between the Sophienstrasse and Karlstrasse, an architectural ensemble was constructed consisting of a luxury hotel, two office buildings, and high-class apartments. Kardorff Ingenieure designed the lighting for the entire grounds and all publicly accessible interior spaces, entrances, and underground parking areas.
