The clubhouse of Germany's oldest golf club, founded in 1894, has been modernized and extended to include a spacious covered terrace. We assisted the interior designer LenzWerk with the lighting concept and the detailed planning for the public clubrooms and restaurant.
The clubhouse's new highlight–the protruding roof designed by the architects Gewers&Pudewill–enables generous use of the terrace and the new transparent facade connects the club rooms with the green. Using only one type of integrated luminaire, our lighting design brightens the underside of the roof's wooden beams. Adjustments to the dimming result in shimmering wood or a warmly lit terrace. From the golf course the floating surface of the roof is visible from afar. In the evenings, it expands the lighted spaces of the clubhouse and restaurant.
