With its function as a trading center for gold and diamonds, the Al Mas Tower assumes a central role in the urban landscape of the Jumeirah Lake Towers. At 340 meters tall, it is the highest of 80 skyscrapers in the new urban district.
Building Type:
Highrise +
The Al Mas Tower is visible from a long distance. The elegant form is reinforced by the horizontal lines of light. At night, the close illumination of the tower’s pinnacle increases the apparent height of the building beyond its 340 meters.
Office +
The facade lighting is mounted on the backside of the glass office facades. An opaque louver prevents any interference in the interior spaces.
Area:
Facade +
We simulated multiple variations and discussed these with the planning partners.
Ballroom +
The ballroom is illuminated through the coffered ceiling which has been equipped with a color control.
Entrance +
The entrance area has structured walls that are backlit with LED.
Underground Parking +
The subterranean parking area was planned in great detail, including the VVIP right of way in front of the vaults.
Conference +
The ballroom is also used for conferences. The lighting system can be adjusted continuously from functional to festive.
Lighting Technology:
Artificial Light +
The lighting concept intends for the tower’s pinnacle to sparkle like a diamond. The building is accented with horizontal seams of light. Through the light’s path, the characteristic form is also discernable from a distance.
Daylight +
For the pinnacle, we designed mirrored surfaces which would reflect the light downwards regardless of the sun’s position.
LED +
The entrance area has structured walls that are backlit with LED.
