This five-star hotel in Munich belonging to the Rocco Forte Group located in London was a great challenge in terms of planning an individual and impressive lighting design with a highly ambient quality.

We designed the lighting of all public areas, including wellness and conference rooms, the facade, and entrance area with its projecting roof.

Facade +
Amber LEDs in flexible plastic tubing outline the curving lines of the balcony railings. Supplemented from below by a soft, even illumination of the facade, the striking image of the hotel is visible by night in the surrounding cityscape.
Restaurant +
Antique chandeliers from the 30’s were retrofitted with modern lighting technology and supplemented with wall luminaires designed by us. These create a brilliant, warm lighting atmosphere.
Wellness +
The light in the pool area is defined by very precisely designed, clear cove lighting and the reflections of the light on the water.

Hardly any downlights can be found in The Charles. From the foyer all the way to the conference rooms, individual designs for pendant, ceiling, and wall luminaires are used. The light sources reflect on the glass crystal, porcelain, and the gold leaf and bronze colored materials of the lighting fixtures.
