Niketown Berlin

The design for Europe‘s first Niketown in 1997 was very complex. Each sport is showcased in its own pavilion and receives individual lighting. The illumination of the shelves was coordinated with the products in a series of tests.

Building Type:
Shopping +
Each sport is housed in its own pavilion. Each pavilion’s layout and color hues formed the basis for the lighting design.
Area:
Entrance +
The entire facade defines the entrance. The blue color of the first pavilion intensifies the effect as seen from a distance.
Facade +
There is no lighting on the facade to optimize its transparency and the effect of the interior pavilions.
Staircase +
The two main staircases are illuminated with backlit glass steps and mounted wall luminaires.
Lighting Technology:
Artificial Light +
Show lights that are coordinated with the audio-visual equipment were integrated into the lighting concept.
