With the “Mobile Life Campus”, the Volkswagen AutoUni developed a new type of university. Building Type:
Office +
The offices are equipped with mounted luminaires. Placement parallel to the facade allows for easy adjustment and dimming in response to natural light.
Culture +
The use of the same lighting fixtures for the seminar rooms, offices, hallways and stairwells gives the corporate university a uniform image.
Area:
Facade +
The light structures lend support to the overlapping building segments.
Entrance +
The recessed entrance is marked by downlights.
Staircase +
The stairs are illuminated by wall luminaires or from the ceilings of the seminar cubes.
Atrium +
In the atrium, the intersecting, linear light structures become apparent.
Workplace +
All workstations are equipped with lights appropriate for computer screens and dependent upon natural light.
Restaurant +
Pendant luminaires delineate the restaurant area.
Conference +
High-bay reflector luminaires behind expanded metal mesh and linear fluorescent lamps with ring louvres provide for large forms and structures.
Lighting Technology:
Artificial Light +
A serial product was developed as a family of lamps. Computer workstation lighting units, asymmetrical luminaires and general-diffuse luminaires with clear or diffuse covers are used throughout the entire building. It is shock-resistant and moisture-proof for long maintenance cycles. Manufacturer: Regiolux
Daylight +
An intensive investigation of the sunlight penetration yielded an optimized shading system. In order to sufficiently document all sunlight penetration scenarios, 24 films were taken into consideration.
